My little road, my little world

Have you ever been alone on the street? Have you ever had a small road trip by yourself? When I was bored or depressed, I'll go on a small road trip in Taipei. I usually walk from the beginning to the end of Zhongxiao E. Rd. The reasons why I choose this road are not just it's the most prosperous area of Taipei but also I can notice many stories and phenomena there. Wear my headphones, walk, and see. There are many new modern buildings here;however, across from the street, they're ancient mottled constructions. I reckon that's why this city is attractive. You know, a magnificent work of humanity and history. This road also reveal both its passion and indifference toward people. Why I feel that? On this clamorous road, the only thing can not be hidden is loneness. The more passionate people act, the more lonely people feel.  At times, I'll see a stylish woman who grabs a cup of coffee  walking fast through a man. A man beg for money with a shabby coffee cup. People are used to it. Maybe the most ironic thing is that identical cup sleeves with different temperature. Moreover, I love to observe lovers. They hold each other tightly on the street smiling delightfully. For them, at the moment, the whole world is nothing but their love. Even though a lonely boy stands next to them staring at his cellphone with frustrated eyes. Wear my headphones, see, and walk. These scenes can always smooth my fidgety emotions. Settle down my feelings, enjoy this little road trip, enter my little world.

  1. Nice job of exploring the contrasts between new/old, rich/poor, together/alone.
    Good use of rhetorical questions.
These words might help you: In contrast, sooth, make me feel (adj)
